That’s When Good Neighbours, Become Good Friends

August 2009, a usual Saturday morning pottering around in my pajamas, but wait – hark! What is that noise!?! People in the garden next door? Moving in! GAH! No more naked kitchen for me then (of course, by that I mean Jamie Oliver watching).

I instantly took myself upstairs to clean myself and get dressed to make the initial greeting – which went something along the lines of – ooh you are the same age as me… any single friends?

A cider was thrust into my hands and what can I say, I’ve been there almost every day since!

Terri and Martyn (or Lady T, Tezla, T to the Minus G and Perfection Personified Himself) are simply the best! They feed me, give me brews on demand. Look after the cats when I go away. They have even been known to mow lawns and wash windows for me too! Amongst many other things!

They have been on hand for support when meeting a man (Terri made a fine Cilla for a while), breaking from a man (sorry Cilla). They are just fab!

The other side, less so – but I won’t disclose that information on here for fear she is watching me!

My Love Of Wagner

People may think I’m strange (no change there then) People may worry about my sanity (again, no change there then) but…

I actually LOVE Wagner

charm, rhythm, style, cheese – what more can a girl wish for? He’s my new “swoon”

Apparently he is doing Mary, so I could still be in with a chance I suppose!!! wehey!

A Sad Day For Shoes!

Today was a sad day for shoes all over the country as I finally waved goodbye to 3 bin bags full of shoes! That’s right – THREE whole bin bags full of shoes! I’m a typical girl when it comes to shoes (although not much else) and so have accumulated a fair few pairs over the years! It was time to sort them!
I have to say it was a total nostalgia trip when it came to sorting them. I had shoes from school that were 2 sizes too small! Shoes I used to club in, shoes I had never worn. Ahh shoes!
I decided to be strict with myself and removed any shoes from my collection that;
– hurt my feet – what’s the point of having sore feet to show off your pretty shoes, so that you only have to take them off again!
– I haven’t worn for a while – this means they are totally out of fashion and i totally wouldn’t wear them again!
– Need fixing in some way – If i love them enough, I’d of fixed them by now right?
– I laughed (not in a good way) when I saw them – that is never a good sign is it
And just because! I think I’m only going to rescue one pair from the bin bags before I take them to the bin and charity shops. I also think I could probably chuck a few more pairs in the bag, but I didn’t want to be too extreme, too soon!

The shoes before sorting – 1 ottoman, 4 plastic boxes and some additional ones on top!

The shoes mid sorting, well a few of them at least – some old friends there!

All that was left – 1 ottoman, 1 box (inc slippers and everything!!!)

Bye Bye shoes! I’ll miss you!

Happy Anniversary Del Monte and Mother!

Happy Anniversary Mummy and Daddy Swift! 29 years! Cor Blimey! You are inspirations, you had tough times, good times and an annoying daughter!

Apparently I’m supposed to buy you some furniture for your special day – well, erm. I didn’t!

Love you lot’s you crazy people xxx

My Top Ten A4U Expo Bits – In No Particular Order

A4U Expo London 2010 – what a blast! It was a great opportunity to meet new people, catch up with old friends, party hard (although not in my case) and learn loads about the industry I love! The new venue was great (although the walking to it wasn’t) and it was a really great, if knackering few days! I thought I’d pop down a few of my favourite bits – in no particular order!

1. The peroni glasses – there may have been some ‘borrowing involved here’ – soooo funny! the challenge was to get 4 – we got 6 – so many happy faces all round – now to get them to the other side of the world!

2. The photo booth – some absolute classics taken – I had a load taken with some very dear friends which I will now treasure! Some comedy genious pics taken too – although a health and safety warning must be given too for any necks using the machine!

3. The speed networking – Absolutely brilliant – A great chance to meet a number of affiliates and get their business cards – cracking!

4. The sausage and mash – The food was great this year – a hot meal at lunch to keep you going on a busy stand! nom nom nom! – The below pic is neither sausage or mash – but just too funny to leave out!

5. The freebies – some awesome free things given out including post it notes, pens, sweets, bags, screen cleaners, chalk mugs, normal mugs, chocolates, notebooks and so much more! Brilliant!

6. The sleeping stairs incident – *snigger* – Someone got tired and took a nap on the spiral stairs – *snigger*

7. The nipple tassles – There are no more words needed here than just – nipple tassles – they kept me and a few others entertained for a good few days after the event!

8. My Friends – I’m not going to name everyone here, because there are too many – needless to say the people know who I’m talking about when I say they all made it very special – many laughs, some good chats and a really great time had together!

9. Graham requesting then knowing all the dance moves to ‘all my single ladies’ – That’s all you need to know about that – well, OK, Graham decided to request abit of beyonce, so he steamed on up to the dj, on came the song and lo and behold – he knew all the dance moves! Legend!

10. The EAM Appartment – We all stayed together this year, in what turned out to be the affiliate pre and post party zone! It was great being with the team and having a sofa and tv to chill too! Awesomeness!
