Day 20 In The Gym – Body Combat and Body Pump

Day 20 and another Body Combat session with Dan. I took my regular spot up the back of the class, away from the people who are a) uber fit and b) know what they are doing. There was plenty of kicking, punching and more kicking to be done and Dan pushes us by making us scream words, in a Panto style:- now the ones at the back, all the girls scream etc etc. He also calls us ‘team’… I must point out that I had positioned myself, through no fault of my own in view of Dan, I like to see what the instuctors are doing, it helps me copy. However, I shant be doing that again. Everytime Dan did a front leg kick thing I could see right up his shorts. Note to Dan, buy cycling shorts… I couldn’t help but giggle at the back and try desperately not too  look!

After a quick water stop and chat to some American Basketball dude, it was then onto Body Pump. I decided to up my weights again and so felt the burn. I have already upped my weights from 2kg to 7kg on the bar for warm ups so my bingo wings shall flap no more! I used the new techniques Di taught me to make sure I wasn’t getting the major neck pains and they are HARD… My legs were burning! Ouch…

I also noticed that after my mention of Di’s catch phrase – See ya!  She only used it twice, once quietly and then once to give us all a boost. As soon as she did it we both laughed… Please keep saying it Di, it really does spurn me on for more hard work…
